As a special feature of Art Night, The Caravan Gallery’s new book, Is Britain Great? 3, launches at Cornerhouse, Manchester.
Roving photographers Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale are back with this third book in their bestselling Is Britain Great? series. Published by Cornerhouse, it contains poignant observations from The Caravan Gallery’s burgeoning archive which depicts a land of contrast and contradiction that somehow manages to look both endearingly familiar and terrifyingly alien.
To celebrate their new book, Jan and Chris will be doing an exclusive presentation on their work followed by a book signing in Cornerhouse's Annexe space. The book will be available on the night at a special price of £10.00 (RRP £15.00).
The ‘Caravanners’ (as they like to be called) will also be bringing The Caravan Gallery itself – their small, faithful caravan that functions as their mobile gallery space and mini social club – and will be parking outside the Annexe on Thursday 24 November. They will be exhibiting prints from the new book and a selection of classic pictures from their huge archive.
