Lido is part of the Twelve group of images. A series of experimental sketches and semi-structural pieces developed for an exhibition at the Cupola Gallery in Sheffield in 2012. As with all my work, photographs are edited and cut and pasted to create new landscapes. The majority of the images appear to show parts of structures confined within well defined boarders. They are two dimensional; with no sky, background or foreground to distract; they are remote landscapes and settings with questionable or uncertain perspectives and narrative. Attention is drawn to the textures, colours and patterns; the juxtaposition of the different elements.
