Ruth's work is mainly focused around documentary and portraiture projects, her current series is looking at student bedrooms and the importance of this space at this age.
As a student all of your possessions are confined to one room, it is a place of comfort and it is also a space where a large amount of social interaction takes place. At a time when people are still finding their own identity it is interesting to see how people express themselves through the things that they have in there bedrooms and the ways that they choose to present them. From wall hangings to photographs and posters, everything is a form of self expression.
