Prospect Mill has been at the heart of the small Yorkshire community of Scholes since Victorian times. Many of the surrounding houses were built to house the factories workers. During 2012-2103 I documented the demolition of the mill to make way for the building of 44 commuter homes.
Surprisingly, every part of the factory was recycled. The slate tiles were stacked on pallets, as were the old red bricks and Yorkshire stone, the huge wooded beams piled ready to be taken away and recut. Finally the rubble was mixed with cement to become the foundations of the new homes
