BIP 2016 - Biennial of the Possible Image

20 August 2016, 12:30 to 16 October 2016, 17:00

This year is the 10th edition of the international biennial of photography held in Liège, now to be called Biennial of the Possible Image. Established in 1997, BIP focussed strictly on photography, but the part several years, the event has given space to the multiple facets of contemporary photographic practices by placing them face to face with other artistic disciplines. After having worked for a number of years around various themes, BIP is now turning towards a freer and more open exploration of the visual field, more mixed and interbred. The event consists of several exhibitions, which present videos, photographs, projections and installations. The main exhibition take place at the Manègede la Caserne Fonck and shows among others the work of Richard Mosse, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige and Michael Snow. Other exhibitions, talks, projections and workshops are offered around the city centre of Liège.
