Cherish is an exhibition looking at our desire to document the familiar and intimate. Curated by Victoria Smith and Ted Holborn, final year Photography students at Manchester School of Art, the exhibition will take place over two days in the Link Gallery. It is the first in a series of curatorial experiments from Photography students at MMU.
An exhibition of photography by Wirral-based photographer Colin McPherson documents the dramatic changes which have taken place in Berlin since the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 will have its premiere later this month in Liverpool to mark the 30th anniversary of those momentous events.
Common Ground is a photographic exhibition that seeks to find the connection between varying personalities, cultures and even opposing ideologies. A call to see the good in another and seek the common ground.
On December 5th, 2015, Storm Desmond hit the North and West of the United Kingdom, smashing rainfall records, and causing widespread flooding and destruction. Indeterminate Land is a collection of photographs taken in the aftermath of the storm, recording its violent effect on the landscape of the Rothay river valley in the Lake District, and the many strange and beautiful changes that took place.
Manchester Art Fair is one of the UK’s most ambitious art fairs. Selling modern & contemporary paintings, sculpture, photography and editioned prints from a selection of UK and international galleries and artists on 11-13 October at Manchester Central.
The event will consist of a morning of presentations by a group of expert reviewers on key features of portfolio and professional development. During the afternoon there will be opportunities for one to one portfolio advice and reviews from 3 reviewers for 20 minutes each. This event is perfect for emerging practitioners, students and artists and will provide valuable advice and reviews from leading practitioners, curators and commissioners. Speakers and reviewers include Anthony Luvera, Liz Hingley, Niall Mcdiarmid, Sebah Chaudhry and Skinder Hundal.
Back for its fifth year, Hull International Photography Festival returns to celebrate the cultural importance of photography in the region. Alongside award-winning visiting and local photographers, there will be a host of other events taking place across the city.
FORM is a new collective of seven artists working with photography and visual arts, based in Manchester, Birmingham, rural Yorkshire, London and Liverpool. New work by each collective member will be shown for the first time from September 29th 2018 at Brighton Photo Fringe. The collective came together as part of Redeye's Lightbox programme.
Join FORM in the Phoenix, Brighton on Sunday afternoon, 30 Sept, for a panel discussion with members of the collective and Paul Herrmann, director of Redeye.
Photgrapher Andrew Susich has spent the last five years documenting life in the San Francisco Bay Area and Manchester using a 35mm Leica M6 camera and Illford film.
