'Photography in the City' Workshops

A new series of photography workshops will be starting in March and April 2008, 'Photography in the City' with Alex Jerman

both 1030 am til 3 pm

£45 or £40 concessions
including drinks and lunch at

Redeye funding increase

Redeye, the Photography Network, has received an increase in regular funding from Arts Council England, of 187.5%, phased in over three years from April 2008 to 2010/11.

This is one of the largest percentage rises of all arts organisations.

On 1st February 2008 Arts Council England released details of decisions on regular funding of all organisations in its portfolio. The majority of organisations received an increase in line with or above inflation but 185 organisations will not have funding renewed.

Exhibition

Police horses, Renaldo and cans of tennents? is an exhibition of work by the Manchester based photographer Mark Page and the Men from The Booth Centre, a homeless mens charity in Manchester. The exhibition is the culmination of workshops ran by Mark Page, Urbis and the men. On show from 18th january 2008 at The Social, Urbis Cathedral gardens Manchester

McPherson's Mersey

A new book and exhibition featuring the work of photographer Colin McPherson, and twelve written essays, presents a portrait of the river Mersey, from its beginnings as a trickle in the Peak District, via Manchester to Liverpool Bay, and explores the river's influence on trade, politics and culture since Roman times.
