After the huge success of the first edition, Redeye is very pleased to present the return of Hothouse – a day of photography and a showcase of creative talent. Hothouse promises to be a hive of photographic activity and information, it’s free to attend, and there are improvements based on your feedback. All day 11:00 to 18:00 on 16 November.

Everyone is welcome – you just need to register (below). You can bring your own book or portfolio – just email us after you register.

Presentations

Throughout the day there will be short presentations from photographers about their recent work and projects. These presentations are in convenient one-hour "blocks" so you can come and go easily.

Books and portfolios

In addition to the presentations there will also be the opportunity to look through these and other photographic portfolios, and photography books.

Feedback and ideas

In between the talks at approx 12:15, 14:00 and 16:00 there's the chance to feed back your thoughts to Redeye on our programme and what you need in your work. See below the timetable for more details.

Feedback sessions

Throughout the day there will a number of networking and feedback sessions. These are informal Q&As with Redeye and are your opportunity to meet others and discuss Redeye’s programme and how we can support you and photography better. These are drop-in, so you can stay for some or all of the session.

Please come with you questions on the following subjects –
- what would help your work and career
- what kind of work would you like to see more of
- any skills training and education that you are having trouble finding
- what would help build photography in the region and the UK
- what facilities and resources that you think are lacking in photography
- how Redeye can reach everyone who needs support

Broadly, we will cover development of your work in the first session, programme in the second and infrastructure in the third, but you are welcome to introduce any thoughts in any of these sessions.

Who should come to Hothouse:

Whether you have a passion for new photography, want to find out about some of the most exciting emerging photographers, or would like the opportunity to meet and network with photographers and industry professionals, this event aims to have something for everyone.

Bringing your book or portfolio

There are two options for showing your book or portfolio. There's an open table on which you can leave your book for others to browse. While there will be Redeye staff on hand, the table is not permanently staffed and so we advise you not to leave books of significant value.

The other option is to be on hand to show people your book or portfolio. We will provide a limited number of tables for this purpose. Spaces at these tables are first come, first served. The doors will open at 10:30.

Venue and Timing

Hothouse will be held at the Studio, 51 Lever Street, Manchester M11FN. The Studio is about ten minutes' walk from both Piccadilly Station and Victoria Station, and 5 minutes from Piccadilly Gardens bus stops. If coming by car all-day parking is £5.00 at nearby Dale Street Car Park (5 mins walk). There are several other cheaper car parks to the NE of Great Ancoats Street.

Hothouse open at 10.30am on 16 November 2013. The first talk will start promptly at 11am, so please be in plenty of time.
