Street Photography: An introduction is a full day workshop that will guide you through the fundamentals of street photography. Street photography is one of the most difficult genres of photography to master because your subjects and the conditions are so unpredictable. From dealing with strangers to creating a visual narrative, professional photographer David Nightingale, and guest speaker Ed Swinden will guide you through key techniques to give you the confidence to start shooting.

This workshop will include a 2-3 hour shoot where students will have the opportunity to practice the techniques discussed during the morning session.

About the Speakers
Chromasia Training Limited is a photographic and post-production training company, specialising in online photography and Photoshop training, one-to-one tuition, and the delivery of high-quality workshops around the world. Run by internationally acclaimed, award-winning photographer and instructor David Nightingale and his wife Libby Nightingale, Chromasia's recent clients include the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the Dubai International Financial Centre, Arts Council England, Sony UK, and Sony Middle East and Africa. David is also a Fujifilm X-Photographer, a brand ambassador for their X-Series cameras and lenses.
The Chromasia photoblog has received numerous nominations and awards including Winner of the Most Popular Photoblog category in the 2008 Photoblog Awards and Best European Photoblog in the 2007 Photoblog Awards. Chromasia believes in the intelligent application of photo enhancing techniques and brings to their students, not only the technical skills to create stunning images, but also the discerning eye and critical judgement of what is needed to improve an image.
Ed Swinden
Ed Swinden is an award-winning former journalist, a writer and multimedia artist. He began his career in advertising before working for various print media including Manchester Evening News and the BBCS's New Media team. In 2009 he embarked on a grant-funded project photographing England's diverse community of beekeepers, and in 2010 he won the inaugural British Journal of Photography "Shoot the Street" photography prize. From 2012 until 2016 Ed worked for the University of Manchester, making films and photographs. He returned to working full time as an artist and photographer in 2016, with his first commission to document the opening of painter Lincoln Townley's retrospective at the Saatchi Gallery in London. Ed has been published in books, journals and magazines across the world, and has exhibited his own artwork across the UK.
