Open City Photography Day 2010

Five Manchester photographers are taking part in an afternoon which is aimed at working towards Manchester being an ‘open city’ for photography. Organised by Cityco, Manchester’s City Centre management company, up to 100 amateur photographers will be taken on a free two hour photography tour around the city on Sunday 23 May 2010.

Didsbury Arts Festival 2010 - Open Photography Competition

Didsbury Arts Festival will take place Saturday, 25 September to Saturday, 2 October, 2010.
Local artists, organisations and people all over Didsbury are invited to support this exciting
community event the aim of which is to celebrate the wealth of talent, diversity and vibrant
community that make Didsbury so special. A varied and stimulating festival programme is
planned to represent a huge range of arts from music, theatre and comedy to visual arts, crafts
and writing.

The festival team would like to hear from all Photographers, whether amateur or professional,
who may want to exhibit their work. You are invited to complete the ‘Artists Form’ in full and

18 PERCENT GREY AUCTION

The 3rd year BA Photography students at Blackpool and the Fylde College have put together an auction of prints and books to raise money for their upcoming exhibitions.
There is work from Colby Kratz, Jason Knott, Britta Jaschinski, Stephen Gill, David Short, Margaret Smith and Tim Flach many more....auction ends 2/June/2010

A Rare Opportunity

Start in Salford is launching a master class for anyone who is interested in early photographic print processes. The class will involve working with 19th Century photographic printing techniques: Van Dyke Brown, Cyanotypes and Gum Printing using digital negatives. The course will be delivered by John Brewer one of the few photographers in the UK still producing work using these traditional processes. A basic knowledge of Photoshop is desirable. The cost of the course will be £105 for 6 two and half hour sessions. The classes will be on a Tuesday evening 5.30-8.00pm at Start in Salford.
