Capture Manchester results

Redeye is delighted to announce the first nine winners of Capture Manchester, our competition in partnership with CUBE Gallery, DLA Piper and Marketing Manchester.

For Glyn Davies, the lost valley of Nant Gwrtheyrn, hidden away on The Llyn Peninsula, on the north-west coast of Wales, was a place of mysterious childhood memories. Then he met Dr Carl Clowes, whose work in the 1970s helped turn the deserted granite-quarrying village into a centre for Welsh language and culture. Their initial co-operation on the production of an illustrated guide-book became, for Glyn, the catalyst for a far more extensive project taking more than six months to complete.

Liverpool Art Prize

McCoy Wynne, a collaborative photographic partnership of Stephen McCoy and Stephanie Wynne, have been shortlisted (six shortlisted artists from 83 nominations)for the Liverpool Art Prize. An exhibition of the shortlisted artists takes place at Novas, Liverpool, from 13th March until 5th May.Winners of the judges prize and the peoples prize to be announced on 22nd April. Private view 12th March 5-30 to 9pm.
McCoy Wynne’s work has been exhibited an
published widely, but most recently as part of Liverpool
Independents Biennial in 2008.
