Side Gallery Homelands Commission

Three short, photography-based commissions that will explore host/migrant communities in the NE of England.

Side Gallery has three short, photography-based, £3,000 commissions available, to explore host/migrantcommunities in the North East of England. The North East has a number of long-standing ethnic minority communities – the South Shields Yemeni community dates from the end of C19th – but it was the UK government?s asylum seeker dispersal policy in 2001 that began a radical cultural transformation in the region.

31 Women in Art Photography

Call for submissions: 31 Women in Art Photography

Humble Arts Foundation, in conjunction with Hasted Kraeutler, will present its third edition of 31 Women in Art Photography at Hasted Kraeutler in Chelsea. Along with Humble’s curatorial director, Jon Feinstein, Natalia Sacasa, senior director of Luhring Augustine, will co-curate the 2012 edition.

Female photographers over the age of 18 are invited to submit, regardless of geographic location, participation in previous exhibitions and/or gallery representation.
