London’s HOST Gallery is now holding the fourth annual Foto8 Summershow celebrating the best in documentary based photography. Last year attracting over 2000 entries from 40 countries, the award is now recognised for showcasing and supporting dynamic new work from emerging and established contemporary photographers. As a platform exposing what Ben Machell of the Timescalls “The New Photojournalism” the show has cemented its standing as one of the major photographic exhibitions of the year.

‘Best In Show’ prize of £2000

The Summershow launches with the exuberant Honduras Street Party celebrating the exhibition of up to 150 images selected by the Foto8 editorial team and is where the winner of the ‘Best In Show’ prize of £2000 is announced. Last year more than 600 people – photographers, editors, journalists, students, art lovers and buyers met to enjoy a night of photography, art, music and food. This uniquely inclusive and accessible event drew significant coverage in the national press.
