Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) have announced an open call opportunity for contemporary visual artists based in the North West of England to apply for a fully funded 2-3 month (up to 10 weeks) artist residency at the 501 Artspace in Chongqing, China.

The residency will be between 2-3 months and should take place between September and the end of November 2017. The selected artist will have access to a studio at 501 and a living space in the local area. The artist will work with staff at the Artspace to engage in the local community and University through workshops, talks and events.

Proposal Brief: CFCCA and 501 Artspace would like to invite North West based contemporary visual artists to submit proposals to be considered for this artist in residence opportunity. Proposals should consider how you wish to work with and respond to the artistic and cultural context of your residency placement, alongside the hosting of a workshop/talk with local students and open studio in Chongqing, and the nature of how this unique opportunity will benefit your research and practice. Proposals can also take into account the CFCCA 2017 programme themes of social transformation and digital technology.
