On 17 February Redeye's Hothouse arrives in Manchester for a free, daylong celebration of photography. It's a showcase of new talent and a hive of photographic activity and information.
What is Hothouse?
Hothouse is an event with short presentations from photographers about their recent work and projects. If you have a project or body of work you would like to talk about, whether it’s complete or a work in progress, we would love to hear from you. For details on how to apply please see further information below.
In addition to the presentations, there will also be the opportunity to bring and look through photographic portfolios, and photography books.
For more details on the event itself please visit here.
Applications for presentations
We are seeking photographers who can give short, ten-minute presentations about their work. These can either be a single project, series or connected body of work, and the slots are open to photographers from all fields – fine art, photojournalism, landscape, portrait, documentary, social, commercial, experimental – anything!
If you are interested in presenting your work, please send up to 12 jpeg images (no bigger than 5MB in total), along with a few sentences about yourself and your work, to submissions@redeye.org.uk by 13 November 2017 at 10 am.
Please use the email title MANCHESTER Hothouse application.
We aim to include as many presentations as we can, and will let you know if you have been successful by 11 December 2017.
Showing your book or portfolio
There are two options for showing your book or portfolio. There's an open table on which you can leave your published or self-published book for others to browse. While there will be Redeye staff nearby, the table is not permanently staffed and so we advise you not to leave unique books or anything of significant value. The other option is to be on hand to talk to visitors about your book or portfolio. We will provide a limited number of tables for this purpose. Spaces at these tables are first come - first served. If you would like to bring a portfolio, please email Charlie Booth at charlie@redeye.org.uk ahead of the day.
