Instituto Cervantes and Redeye invite photographers and photographic artists to submit exhibition proposals for any work with a Spanish, Latin American or Hispanic theme or connection. The selected work will be exhibited at Instituto Cervantes, Manchester, in March to April 2013.
For example we are interested in:
- Work made in the UK but with a link to Spanish, Latin American or Hispanic life, work or culture.
- Work made by UK photographers in Spain or Latin America
- Work made by Spanish or Latin American photographers in the UK.
- Work that compares any aspect of the nations or cultures.
If you are not sure whether your work will be suitable or have any other questions, please contact us before the deadline, or add a comment to the area below.
Redeye and Instituto Cervantes will select the work of a number of photographers to fill the main auditorium of the building.
Redeye and Instituto Cervantes will provide marketing, technical assistance, a launch event, and insurance for the exhibition. Please note that no fee will be paid by us for taking part, and any costs for printing, mounting and framing the work should be paid by the photographer / artist.
It will be possible to offer the work for sale through this exhibition. This will be managed by the photographer and no commission will be charged. We can advise on pricing if needed.
Submitting work is free and open to Redeye members. If you have not yet paid for membership, please join before submitting (£30 for students, £50 for others).
Your submission should consist of:
Up to 12 jpeg images or links to work online;
supporting text;
your CV or biography;
your contact details.
Maximum email size: 10MB.
Deadline for submission is noon on 15 January 2013.
You will be notified of our decision by 30 January 2013.
