As part of Redeye's continuing look at collaborations, we are very pleased to welcome Centrepoint Collective and Adam Lee for our Manchester Network Meeting in September.
Centrepoint Collective will be speaking about their current project, Place and Being: A photographic dialogue between two cultures, in partnership with Neuroblasto Magazine (Mexico). Acting as a cultural exchange between Mexico and the United Kingdom, the project addresses topics such as migration, isolation and identity. The final exhibition will bring together the work of 15 photographers residing in the UK and Mexico.

Centrepoint Collective is comprised of photographers from differing cultural backgrounds including Britain, Mexico, Sweden and Spain, all of whom are now UK-based. Centrepoint Collective was founded in 2009, with the aim of enabling young photographers to shed light on their photographic careers through the creation of exhibitions and collaborative projects. They also promote and exchange ideas through photography to explore the specificity of their cultures and the relationship between the landscape and one’s self.
Centrepoint Collective was initially established after one of its members took part in Redeye’s Hang exhibition workshops in 2008-9 and later two other members took part in Lightbox 2010-11.

Adam Lee is a freelance documentary photographer and workshop facilitator exploring lifestyles, issues and identity, using both the photojournalistic style and still life.
Much of Adam’s professional work centres on participatory photography, exploring issues through photography from the perspective of those that face them. Adam works regularly for London-based charity Photo Voice and Halton Borough Council as well doing as freelance participatory work. He has worked with a range of groups such as disabled people, youth offenders, homeless youth, and victims of sexual exploitation.
Adam is also involved within the photographic arts community in the North West of England. He is a director of Look11 and hosts Redeye's network meetings in Liverpool, run in association with the Open Eye gallery.
Adam will be speaking about his experiences of collaborating on the Lightbox 2010 project We Are Activists and as a director of Look: Liverpool International Photography Festival.
