Network event: Alison Stolwood

26 June 2012, 17:30 to 19:30

We are delighted to welcome photographic artist Alison Stolwood, exhibiting at Open Eye Gallery as part of Still Outside (or Unexplained) for our next Network Meeting in Liverpool.

Alison graduated with an MA in Photography from the University of Brighton in 2011. Her work explores the blurred distinctions between natural and artificial environments. She writes: "I construct and isolate with the lens, building up a work in montage or multiple frames. My aim is to study, through visual mechanisms, surroundings of infinite complexity. I like to show a small isolated part of this complexity to help think about the relatively impossibility of understanding the whole, using the lens as an aid to observation as well as a tool for manipulation, power and control.”

Still Outside (or Unexplained) is the forthcoming exhibition at Open Eye Gallery, 22 June - 2 September 2012. For further information visit Open Eye Gallery’s website.

Redeye’s Liverpool Network meetings are regular get-togethers, hosted by Open Eye Gallery. A great opportunity to meet, mingle and be inspired by your peers and the exciting possibilities within photographic practice. Join us for a glass of wine or juice prior to the talk (18:30) and then to a local pub afterwards to carry on the conversations.

Doors open at 18:30 for refreshments and networking with the talk starting at 19:00.

Price: £3.50 or FREE for Redeye members. To register for a member ticket, please log in first with your username and password, then that option will appear next to the event prices after you follow the link below.
