CALL FOR ENTRIES
We're looking for original and imaginative bodies of work from the North West of England and beyond that can be shown in the form of a digital slideshow with soundtrack, with running times of up to 5 minutes or less. Somewhere between 15 and 40 images is a good guideline for submission.
EVENT DETAILS
The Slideshow event will take place at the Lowry in Salford on the 31st January 2008 between 7pm and 9.30pm. Free entry. All chosen entrants will be informed by email.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS
Friday 11th January 2008
IMAGE & AUDIO SETTINGS
All images should be in JPEG format (saved at 9 quality, NOT 12) in RGB colour mode (even if your images are black and white). An sRGB colour profile is best. Slides will be presented at 1400 wide x 1050 pixels tall so the width of your images should not be larger than 1400 pixels with the height not exceeding 1050 pixels. If slides are submitted smaller, a black border will be put around the images.
Please name your image files with your initials followed by a 2-digit Serial Number. For example, MK01.jpg, MK02.jpg, MK03.jpg. The serial number should signify the order in which you want the slides presented.
Please also make 1.Title slide (jpeg) with your name (and the title of the project if applicable) for the beginning of your slideshow. This should be labelled with your initials followed by 00 (MK00). The Name slide must be the first slide in your show.
2.End slide (jpeg) with your contact info, labelled with your initials followed by the last two serial numbers in your project. We ask that if you include music you add a music credit page, if applicable, and it should be labelled according to its desired placement (preferably just before the End slide).
An audio file such as music or an interview is also required. Ideally, it will contain some kind of narration, voice-overs or soundscapes relevant to your body of work. We understand that this might not be possible so please get in touch if you are unsure what soundtrack to include. If timings in your narration need to relate to specific images, please let us know in an email or text file accompanying your submission.
If you have an existing slideshow in a different format with narration and set timings (a QuickTime Movie file, for example), don't hesitate to get in touch as we should be able to cater for a range of formats.
