Redeye's Rethink Sessions aim to help photographers and artists navigate the COVID-19 crisis; to reprioritise, and find new ideas and income during the pandemic and beyond.
We've invited creative thinkers to respond with a positive and forward-thinking approach to questions about the business models, ideas and philosophies behind people's work; to present potential coping strategies, ways to rethink plans, respond artistically to the crisis and keep funding your practice. As old opportunities close down, new ones open up. How might things be different “afterwards”?
We invite you to submit questions in advance - see below. Most Rethink Sessions are followed later in the week by a more informal Stay and Chat session, where anyone is free to talk about the issues raised, or anything else. Details appearing soon.
The sessions are recommended for creative freelancers, artists and image makers, anyone whose way of working looks like it’s changing, as well as planners and strategists working in the creative world.

All of these events are free and open to everyone, but you do need to register. The events will be conducted on Zoom, and we suggest downloading the App for free for computer, tablet or smartphone, before the event. See Zoom's website for more information.
Please submit any questions or comments for the speakers before the event to chat@redeye.org.uk, ideally specifying who you would like to respond to your question. Please make it very clear if you want the question to be anonymous.
The events will last from 1 hour to 75 minutes. Each guest speaker will talk and respond to questions submitted in advance. Then the events open up to general discussion.
Please note that these are public events and they will be recorded.

Rethink Session: Refreshing your artist statement
A good artist statement gives the audience an access point into your work, communicating clearly who you are. It is about finding your creative voice. For this Rethink Session we will take a focused look at writing about your work with writer, curator and academic Camilla Brown.
Tuesday 9th June 6 - 7:15pm, register for free here.
