SEPN (Socially Engaged Photography Network) meet up: Failing is Learning
North West Region
SEPN is a national and inclusive network bringing organisations, photographers, community groups, academics and curators from across the country to discuss and accelerate the practice of socially engaged photography.
Following on from our regional meeting in December, the North West group demonstrated an interest in discussing the idea of 'failing'. What happens when something in a socially engaged project doesn't go to plan? Is this 'failing' or is it in fact more a process of learning about this practice. More often than not we forget to discuss these aspect of our projects but there is so much to gain from reflecting upon unexpected journeys and outcomes.
North West cultural hosts Redeye Photography Network and Open Eye Gallery are delighted to host the next regional meet up on Tuesday 5th May, 5 - 6.40pm.
The discussion will be facilitated by Open Eye Gallery's Head of Engagement Liz Wewiora with case studies from SEPN members Celine Marchbank, Rob Parkinson and Gary Bratchford.
