In our experience, everyone is going about their business, talking about the success stories of their career to apply for new work. And so they should. But isn't it freeing to hear about the things that haven't quite gone to plan? Isn't it encouraging to know most people have experienced projects that go totally wrong? Yes!. This is a session to learn from each other's different situations to prevent future issues for yourself.

Interested in large format film photography? Want to improve your ideas and technique? Come and hear from photographer Craig Easton, and if you like, bring along your work for group critique and feedback.

Craig Easton uses large format photography as part of Sixteen, a major new national touring project involving 16 photographers looking at the experience of 16-year-olds all around the UK. The project evolved from his earlier work The Scottish Referendum Project and aims to give a platform for young people from all walks of life to express their aspirations, hopes, dreams and fears for their futures.

Graduating can be a daunting prospect. Challenges can come thick and fast as you try to balance new work commitments with personal projects, moving home and losing the once-secure network of photographers and tutors you saw every day. Worried about what to do next? Then these sessions are for you!

Fourth Year is a series of informal support sessions for recent graduates and people about to graduate from photography courses to gain support for their practice.

Back for its fifth year, Hull International Photography Festival returns to celebrate the cultural importance of photography in the region. Alongside award-winning visiting and local photographers, there will be a host of other events taking place across the city.

The third in a new series of events to connect and support the photographic community in and around Sheffield. The sessions are presented by Redeye members Karina Lax and Jeremy Abrahams. This event features the work of Arpita Shah and the late Martin Jenkinson, and also includes time for discussion and networking.

During this event, Illuminate will introduce presentations from artists involved in their project and other guest speakers, investigating the lasting impact and legacy of Hull City of Culture 2017, specifically the impact it had on Hull and its cultural industries. The session will also provide Hull-based photographers with a platform to develop their network.

Hothouse arrives in Leeds for a day-long celebration of photographic talent. Throughout the day there will be short presentations from photographers about their recent work and projects, plus ample opportunity for networking and showing portfolios and books. Redeye is delighted to be working with Miniclick and Lens Think Yorkshire on this edition of Hothouse; they have both contributed to the day’s programming.

In partnership with CFCCA, we are delighted to welcome international award-winning photographer Mandy Barker to present her globally recognised work involving marine plastic debris. Working alongside scientists, Mandy aims to raise awareness about pollution in the world's oceans whilst highlighting the harmful affect on marine life and ultimately ourselves.

*SOLD OUT* An evening of presentations and discussions about all things green in photography. Photographers Phil Barton and Walter Lewis will be showing how they investigate issues around environmental sustainability in their work. *SOLD OUT*
